Elect Jon Farmer
to Owen Sound
City Council

The community of Owen Sound is facing many complex challenges from creating and managing growth to addressing the affordability crisis, navigating infrastructure deficits and and making sure that everyone can live here with dignity. City councillors can help to provide solutions but only if they are thoughtful, creative, and collaborating with the community at large.

With years of work and volunteer experience in community organizing, project management, and communications, Jon Farmer has the skills and perspectives to shape effective solutions at City Hall.

Jon also has deep roots in the community. He was born and raised in Owen Sound, left for a few years to travel and study in BC, and returned to the area in 2015. He lives, works, plays, volunteers, and is raising a family in Owen Sound.

Meet Jon

Jon has deep roots in Owen Sound through his volunteering, work, and participation in community arts and sports scenes. A third generation community volunteer, Jon learned the importance of engagement, compassion, and community connection from a young age. He is also a proud father.

Why City Council?

Municipal government is the closest to the people. It has the potential to be proactive in providing support, identifying challenges, and bringing people together to solve them.

Recent city councils have not taken every opportunity to address pressing challenges facing Owen Sound. The community deserves a city council that will take every opportunity in this work and that is precisely the work Jon wants to do.
